#Cooking Boston Butts #BBQ #Grilling

On July 24th and 25th, Michael and I cooked 8 Boston Butts for a high school reunion in Wynne, AR We have a few videos and pictures from the cookout illustrating the steps we took to cook this meal.

The first thing we did was clean the grills. Michael opted for the power tool way. LOL!

Once we were done cleaning the grills, we were ready to start building a fire. Michael and I are using Weber standard kettle type grills to cook these butts, but you can use the same techniques in most any type of smoker.

We never use lighter fluid, so we always get out the trusty old charcoal chimney. We go into a little detail as to why we use the chimney in the following three videos.

I am sorry about the editing. We didn't realize the camera wasn't recording the whole time, and the scene was broken into four parts.

Now that the chimney is started and getting hot, Michael, Patrick, and I move into the kitchen to dress the meat and apply the dry rub seasoning.

Before we make it to the kitchen, Patrick (@pat1huey) decides to do a little advertising for our sauce.

After Pat decided to quit goofing around with the sauce, we decided to bring it indoors.

Now that the meat is ready, the fire is ready too. Michael holds up the chimney in victory, and the cooking is ready to begin...

Stay tuned for the second part of this series where Michael and I have stayed up a few hours and begin checking temps and pulling the meat ooff the fires!
